Our Shopify SEO Agency Process
There are several steps that Shopify store owners should follow when setting up their SEO including building out sitemaps, keywords research, adding social sharing buttons, creating blog content and more; however, there are many different ways to go about achieving each goal.
As such, there isn’t one shopfiy seo app that serves as a “one size fits all” solution. Instead, we encourage a process similar to the following:
- First… Actually consider doing SEO.
One of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen is that store owners just don’t implement SEO tactics onto their websites. And when we say “doing SEO” we mean doing the work as described below, not just installing an app.
You’re committed? Ok, cool! Let’s get to work. The first step you’ll want to take is defining what keywords will likely be the most likely to get you relevant traffic and sales.
While inserting keywords to increase organic search rankings is important, writing unique and relevant content is paramount. The topics should be something readers can benefit from or provide value to them in some way. This may include including how-to guides, lists of best products, etc. Make sure the text is grammatically correct and readable throughout your site before you move on to next steps.
- Get your page speed as fast as possible.
Your Shopify store users do not like having to wait for pages to load, especially on mobile devices. As such, us Shopify SEO experts suggest that you look into apps that can help speed up your site speed without compromising the functionality or design of your website.
- Optimize product listings.
Each listing should include unique descriptions and titles so search engines better understand what the products are about. If you have thousands of products, it may be best to outsource this task so they can take care of updating content regularly with minimal disruption to sales or operations.
Also, ensure each page has accurate meta tags and unique content.
- Work on getting other people to talk about you.
This is also known as link building. We suggest you focus on getting links from pages that are relevant to your store and industry. It will help drive traffic and increase the credibility of your website and brand, making it easier for users to find you naturally in search results.
Once everything has been installed, there should be several metrics available through which store owners can measure performance at all times. Much like checking the oil level or tire pressure in a car, keep an eye out for warning signs that something may be wrong with your shopify store’s website issues.
